Construction of the new Coastal Protection Scheme to improve flood defence

Description

Balfour Beatty were the principle contractor providing the construction of the new coastal protection scheme as part of the ongoing improvements to the flood defences along the Fylde coast.

SPI Piling were appointed as the steel piling specialist, employed to install over 1 kilometre of toe protection piles.  the piles are required to protect the new defences from scour/erosion from the sea.

Piles were installed using the Movax SPH75 (750kN) hammer and excavator mounted HPH1200, all handled by the New Holland E385BLC

The project was done over 3 visits and had a contract value of £250K
