Project
Development of visitors centre and country heritage park

Description

stone culvert works

The disused Chatterley Whitfield Colliery site was being developed into a visitors centre and country heritage park, which involved bulk earthworks, hard and soft landscaping, new footbridges and the diversion of existing watercourses.

To replace an existing collapsed stone culvert Birse Civils Ltd employed us to install a new DN1800 pipes below the main access road to the site. The work included the construction of a large battered thrust pit and a 80m long pipejack using our Herrenknecht MH3.

Ground Conditions

Mixed, consisting of colliery spoil, sandstone, sand and gravel.
