Update from our Directional Drilling Team

AEYTS has recently completed a pipe bursting project for Wessex Water in Bradford on Avon. Our site crew installed by pipe bursting, 55m of 100mm pitch fibre installing 125mm screw thread in two runs and 45m of 150mm pitch fibre installing 180mm screw thread in two runs, manhole and benching reinstatement in addition to some landscaping of ornamental gardens where laterals had been dug out. Our client was very please with not only our standards of work but completing the job in just over one week. The pipe bursting was undertaken using our PB30 tonne rope burster, ideal for working in compact and restricted areas.

A E Yates Trenchless Solutions have completed HDD works at Thorney Business Park, Iver, Slough for Cappagh contractors. We installed 3 runs of 180mm, 170mm under a busy car park and access roads, 120m under woodlands and 80m under waste ground. Drilling took place at 5m deep to get into the good clay and our expert crew welded and jointed the pipe prior to installation.

Our HDD teams work nationwide but very rarely on our doorstep, so our Southern HDD manager, who is based in Bedford, was thrilled to be able to manage works in his home town, as we have recently completed HDD works at Bedford STW for Skanska working for the Anglian Water @Onealliance. We installed twin 180mm rising mains approx 150m long under numerous existing services and 900mm outfall from works. In addition high back ground interference proved testing for tracker to ensure bores hit the desired exit point. Despite the presence of nearby gravel pits, the bores were installed in good clay.
