Horizonal Directional Drilling technique used at Burghley House, Stamford

AEYTS have just commenced a new watermain installation for Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions on behalf of Anglian Water. The scheme; to be installed using Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) techniques will take a route through the estate of the magnificent 16th Century, Burghley House in Stamford, Lincolnshire. HDD was selected for this scheme to reduce construction traffic/impact within the sensitive estate grounds, and as the process is generally quicker than traditional open-cut techniques means the scheme will be completed in the shortest programme possible minimising disruption. News from our Microtunnelling Team

At our Walbottle Site we're hoping to get all party approval to commence shaft sinking this week, following the preparatory works which has included surveys, design, void grouting, procurement, over pumping, utility diversions, demolition and strengthening works. The shaft will be 10.5m internal diameter and will be approximately 14m deep. When complete the shaft will provide suitable access to the existing culvert to allow the lining and strenthening works to be undertaken. more

Update from our Directional Drilling Team

AEYTS has recently completed a pipe bursting project for Wessex Water in Bradford on Avon. Our site crew installed by pipe bursting , 55m of 100mm pitch fibre installing 125mm screw thread in two runs and 45m of 150mm pitch fibre installing 180mm screw thread in two runs, manhole and benching reinstatement in addition to some landscaping of ornamental gardens where laterals had been dug out.
