The project was to improve the quality of storm sewer outfalls to the local watercourse.

Description

construction of new access shaft

Access shaft constructed in rock to connect into the existing CSO structure, associated earthworks, access roads, new access to existing access shaft MH3, ancillary equipment, control building, installation of access platforms on the weir wall and installation/cconstruction of temporary works including temporary preparatory access bridge spanning over the existing weak canal swing bridge to facilitate heavy plant crossing over the Leeds Liverpool canal. This bridge was removable to allow passage of canal traffic. Existing CSO chamber received 10 no Mecmex hydralic screens, supplied, installed and commissioned by the screen supplier.
