Transfer of flows from two Wastewater Treatment Works to be abandoned to Ellesmere Port WwTW

Tendered D&C project under United Utilities AMP3 Programme. Construction of a Transfer Pumping Station in 4m ID Caisson Shafts at both Mickle Trafford and Thornton Hough, together with RC Overflow / CSO Structures. Partial demolition of the existing WwTW's.

Construction of 8km of transfer Rising Mains at 180 & 200mm OD through agricultural fields and along small local roads. 5.6km of which constructed by Horizontal Directional Drilling as an alternative to open-cut to minimise disruption, reinstatement and environmental disturbance.

Rising Main crossings of both the M56 & M53 Motorways involving the construction of 1200mm ID Pipejacked sleeves (91 & 113m) by Iseki Unclemole pressurised slurry system, plus associated shafts.
