We did it Again!! EA Northern Minor Works Framework

A E Yates Ltd have been awarded a place on the EA northern minor works framework.

A E Yates are delighted to have been successful in their bid for the new Northern Minor Works Framework (MWF) with the Environment Agency. This Framework Contract is due to run for two years (2013 to 2015) with 2 one year options (to 2017).

A E Yates are one of only 8 contractors chosen to enter into this framework for the construction and maintenance of Minor Civil Engineering Projects across the whole of Northern of England (Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, The Wirral, parts of Derbyshire, Northumberland and Yorkshire), with project values to 500k. The EA estimate that the total value of their purchases for the duration of the framework agreement is 30m.

The MWF is also available to other Risk Management Authorities (RMAs) and Defra delivery bodies. These include Local Authorities and internal drainage boards. The framework is also available to the Welsh Government.

Types of work may include (but are not limited to):

  • Construction / repair of earth embankments and coastal, estuarine and fluvial works for flood defence.
  • Construction / repair of concrete structures e.g. outfalls, abutments, retaining walls, flood defence walls.
  • Installation of piling works including timber piling and sheet steel piling.
  • Installation and placement of rock armour and erosion protection works (which may include soft engineering or bioengineering solutions).
  • Construction or refurbishment of various assets including pumping stations, gauging stations, telemetry kiosks, weirs and fish passes.
  • Creating habitats for wildlife and environmental enhancements.
  • Fabrication and installation of debris screens, access ladders, landings and hand rails. General building works.
  • Provision of detailed designs, bending schedules, drawings and technical advice on civil engineering works and building maintenance works.
