A E Yates Trenchless Solutions have completed three rail crossings on the Asselby to Aberford Pipeline for National Grid including a crossing of the East Coast Main Line. Crossing works comprising tunnels and other crossings using our new Auger are also being undertaken for J N Bentley at Wing in Rutland for a 1.2m water pipeline. Here, we are also threading the product pipe including welding the joints and testing.
Work will be starting shortly at Sidcup for Dean & Dyball comprising the construction of a sheeted pit for the Backacter launch pit, a caisson for a Guided Auger and a 4m ID x 6m deep caisson reception pit. Underground work on the jobs are two guided auger crossings of 58m and 10m, and 2 backacter drives of 98m each from a central sheeted drive pit.
The Powerbore is shortly scheduled to drill under Shoreham Harbour. Other drilling works that are in progress at the moment include works for Clancy Docwra, Morrisons, Balfour Beatty and Conroy Utilities.
Just completed is a contract at Beaminster in Somerset for Wessex Water involving 1100m of pipe bursting and some open cut, plus approx. 65 service connections/valves. The job went very well. The client was pleased with our performance and there should be more follow up work.
AEY Trenchless Solutions have completed guided auger work in Manchester and also at Heathrow Airport for 18m of an 18" lost steel sleeve. This is to be followed by similar works for the same client consisting of a ditch crossing for a 300mm DI gravity main at Horley near Reigate.
The rock tunnel at Greenlaw Park is now complete. The drive consisted of approx. 246 metres and ony necessitated one roller change. The machine made good progress and went very well until we encountered differing ground conditions. We were anticipating the last 30m to be in clay, so it was a bit of a shock when we encountered clay for the final 70 metres.
