History

the history of soil stabilisation

Soil Stabilisation as a process has been around since WW1. Although more basic than today (and certainly not as safety conscious), the historical use of soil stabilisation has, in principle, remained the same. Binding powders have been spread onto existing material and then mixed in using a rotivator.

Moving through the ages soil stabilisation has seen much progress, including laboratory tests to determine binder addition and onsite compliance testing to establish that the required performances have been met. Soil stabilisation has also been recognised in industry standards.
