A E Yates Trenchless Solutions Ltd uses a modern in-house designed and written computer-based Integrated Management System (IMS) that incorporates separate Management components for H&S, Environmental and Quality. Each management component has been certificated by BSI to the relevant "001" Standard.

The H&S Management component is accredited to OHSAS 18001:2007
The Environmental Management component is accredited to ISO 14001:2004
The Quality Management component is accredited to ISO 9001:2008

The IMS documentation is designed to be used on computer and makes full use of internal hyperlinking and external links to the Government Legislation websites and websites from various Enforcement Agencies.

The "001" Standards are designed and written in a generic manner, and the 3 standards contain a significant amount of common content. In order to avoid unnecessary duplication, and to maintain a streamlined format, our IMS includes a Core component that contains the common items such as System Review, Internal Auditing, Objectives & Targets, Design Control, Management of Non-conformance, Plant, Calibration, Procurement, Supplier Assessment, Document & Data Control, Records and Archiving.

This Core component supplements each Management system component to form a stand-alone system accredited to the appropriate "001" Standard.

The Core component includes Legislation and Standards Registers which are formally reviewed and updated every 6 months and are used to monitor, measure and assure the company's compliance with HSQE Legislation and / or Best Practice.

All of the components have the same document structure which includes Policies, Procedures, Guidance, Work Instructions, Proforma, Risk Assessments, Permits, Tool Box Talks and Reference Publications.

Our IMS follows the Plan-Do-Check-Act model. Planning and competence are core requirements. We produce a Contract HSQE Management Plan for each major contract. This is a high level document and is supplemented by site-specific Risk Assessments, Method Statements and COSHH Assessments. Smaller contracts are subject to our Minor Works management approach. This requires the provision of a site-specific streamlined Job Pack which includes project information, Permits, Risk Assessment and Method Statement, COSHH Assessments, Emergency Contact details and Hospital Route.

In compliance with Core Procedure "IMS Review", the whole IMS is formally reviewed internally every 6 months. External review is carried out by BSI who currently allocate 2 days per annum to A E Yates Trenchless Solutions Ltd.

CHAS

A E Yates Trenchless Solutions Ltd are accredited under CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme) and undergo external assessment every 12 months.

The second year is a 1-day site only visit. A E Yates Trenchless Solutions Ltd joined this scheme in 2010 and has achieved and maintained high scores in all component categories.
