History

A E Yates was established in Horwich, Bolton in 1870 as a local Public Works and Transport Contractor.
In 1946 the company was acquired by the Whitehead family, who still own and operate the company today.

A E Yates was incorporated as a limited company in July 1946, since which time the company has developed into a successful and financially stable Civil Engineering & Tunnelling Contractor, and the lead company in the A E Yates Group.

In addition to General Civil Engineering capabilities, A E Yates Ltd have subsidiary and associated companies undertaking Sheet & Bored Piling, Soil Stabilisation and Pipe Jacking / Trenchless Installations.

Investment in fully up to date equipment and in the development of highly skilled operational teams has reinforced and enhanced the Company's capability.

We are members of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association, the Pipe Jacking Association & UKSTT and are fully accredited to ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and BS OHSAS 18001:2007.
